Greetings,
On my mothers side my ancestors are from Belfast in Northern Ireland
On my fathers side my ancestors are from Scotland and England
I was born in the land of Kāi Tahu, Kāti Mamoe and Waitaha in Rakahuri (Leithfield/Amberley area) and grew up there also
I live in Christchurch
My name is Kiera Joblin
Therefore, greetings to you all
Kia ora e hoa, I am glad to have you here.
Ko Kiera tōku ingoa, my name is Kiera. I use she/her pronouns and I identify as a queer, cis-gendered, pākehā wahine.
Phew, that may seem like a big introduction, but it is important to me that I share who I am, so that you may feel comfortable to share who you are.
I work as a counsellor in Ōtautahi Christchurch and I have a Masters in Counselling from the University of Canterbury.
I have been privileged to work with a wide range of people and have 10 years experience in caring professions.
Prior to working as a counsellor, I worked as a youth worker, a nutritionist, a personal trainer and a community worker. Some of my most enjoyable work was working in drug and alcohol rehabilitation in prison settings.
I particularly enjoy working with the rainbow and takatāpui community, wāhine (women), rangatahi (young people) and tamariki (children) and their whānau.
I am currently accepting private clients and have limited space for ACC sensitive claims clients, please get in touch via the contact page if you would like to have a chat and see if we would work well together.
